Also out this week:
Bob Mould's always been more of a Hüsker Dü-er than a Hüsker Don't-er and he's getting a lot off his chest with his new one - it's an absolute joy to cling on to his tail lights as he screeches off towards the horizon. Huge choruses, rejuvenating rhythms, and production the size of the Grand Canyon - Sasami has taken a running leap into the pop pool, blending cues from all manner of great modern songwriters and fashioning them into something totally her own. Divorce are spinning uplifting and infectious songs around the invented titular destination of 'Goldenhammer' on their latest outing of country-laced indie-pop (catch 'em performing in the shop tonight!) and Clara Mann’s debut album (and wondrously packaged Dinked edition) is stark, gentle, yet softly bubbling with a subtle warmth that defies its stripped-back nature. Elsewhere, De La Soul are taking a swim in the 'Clear Lake Audiotorium', Kraftwerk have hit the road, the Knats' Dinked has flown in, Neil Young is swimming in the hills, The Tubs are wearing their 'Cotton Crown', it's off to the mill with Melin Melyn, David Bowie's Young Americans have turned 50, we're going round again with The Primitives, Jason Isbell is frolicking in the snow, Pale Blue Eyes have invited us to their 'New Place', Alabaster Deplume's gone blading, and we're circling this huuuge collection from Drain Gang!
