‘Limits of Language’ is the band’s first album of new music for almost four years and they decided that it would have to be different, in both sound and scope. There have been a plethora of recent solo projects: David’s quietly-jazzy ‘Soft Struggles’; the playful electronica of Peter’s ‘Blowdry Colossus’; a limited-issue brass collaboration LP ‘Binding Time’; and the vault-raiding ‘John Monroe EP’ made with original Field Music keyboard player Andrew
Moore, all of which have inspired this new direction These new compositions see David & Peter mix synthesised textures, off-the-cuff flickers of guitars and layers of disorientating found-sound percussion within a confidentially expanded Field Music sonic palette as they continue with their astonishing, bloody-minded run of releases.
