Sonically, the album has its roots in the usual DITZ influences: classic noise rock such as The Jesus Lizard or Shellac, or the obtuse post-punk of The Fall, but also brings in fresh influences that are more closely aligned with Mogwai. There are tracks that swell and boil over, tracks that thrust you against the wall and tracks that unhurriedly escort you into the ether. They build and they build and they build. And eventually, after 10 immense tracks, they dare to
breathe in… but Never Exhale.
